FAQs

  • Where do the services take place?

In most cases Fulcrum will come to you!

Some services like consultations can take place over the phone or via email. But all maintenance work will take place on-site, meaning there is no need to worry about transport or being without instruments for longer than a few hours.

  • How long do maintenance and repair services take?

Time estimates for maintenance and repairs are heavily dependant on the the instrument model, instrument age, and complexity of the work that needs doing.

Some instruments may not have received attention for years, so a full service will take a few hours.

  • How long do consultation services take?

On-site consultations typically take one hour to complete, allowing enough time to appraise the equipment and discuss how you would like to proceed.

Fulcrum endeavours to answer all research-based queries (i.e., equipment recommendations) within one week.

  • How often should percussion equipment be serviced?

Some jobs only need to happen once, such as repairs and replacing missing parts. For more general maintenance though it is recommended to do so ever 12-18 months, much like with piano tuning or getting a trumpet serviced.

  • Where do supplies and parts come from?

Fulcrum endeavours as much as possible to source supplies and parts from local or Australian-based distributors.

That being said, some specialised parts may only be available through international distributors.

  • Is Fulcrum eco-friendly?

Fulcrum aims to reduce waste in as many ways as possible.

All wood polishes used have natural bases like beeswax or are vegan, bottles and containers from cleaning supplies are recycled, and packaging or storage solutions are sourced chiefly from eco-conscious businesses.
